Joan Crain, Senior Director, Wealth Strategies and Chief Fiduciary Officer - Florida, at BNY Mellon Wealth Management, was named 2009 Trust Banker of the Year by the Florida Bankers Association's Trust, Asset Management and Private Banking Division.
The Trust Banker of the Year Award is given annually to a trust banker with an outstanding commitment to excellence demonstrated by service and involvement with the Florida Bankers Association Trust, Asset Management & Private Banking Division or Florida Trust School while participating in the growth and development of Florida's communities. Crain is chairperson of the division's legislative committee.

Crain has been with BNY Mellon for nine years and has worked in the industry for more than 25 years. She oversees the administration of trusts, estates and guardianships for BNY Mellon Wealth Management's Florida offices. In her capacity as a wealth manager she typically serves clients with investable assets of more than $5 million and an average net worth of nearly $30 million.
A native of British Columbia, Canada, Crain has resided in Florida for 30 years. For the last 15 years she has lived in Plantation with her husband who shares her enthusiasm for bicycling.
Crain will be awarded this honor at the division's Wealth Management Conference on Sept. 29 in Orlando. The Trust, Asset Management and Private Banking Division is made up of more than 45 member institutions. The division focuses on issues, legislative and educational activities and strategic initiatives that improve its members' competitive position in the fiduciary and investment services and private banking marketplace.
