BNY Mellon Wealth Management has hired Robert Pitti as senior director of portfolio management and Leigh Wasson as senior director for its San Francisco office. The hires represent the first step in a plan to add eight more professionals to the office by the end of the year. Additionally, Dustin Dippel who has been with the company since 2007 has been promoted to portfolio manager.


BNY Mellon Wealth Management has hired Karen Manning as vice president and portfolio manager for the firm's Cleveland office. Since August 2009, the wealth manager has gained momentum, adding key hires in business development, portfolio management and banking in key U.S. locations. Manning will report to William Caster, Regional President of BNY Mellon Wealth Management's Ohio region.


BNY Mellon Wealth Management has added two new senior sales directors to its Florida operations, a move designed to capitalize on its national expansion strategy. Lynn Currin, based in Sarasota joins to cover the Sarasota, Bradenton and Venice markets. She reports to Ray Ifert, regional director, BNY Mellon Wealth Management. Brendan Duffy will be based in and responsible for Naples as well as southwest Florida and he will report to Paul Dresselhaus, managing director of BNY Mellon Wealth Management's Florida West region.


BNY Mellon Wealth Management has hired Peter L. Berg as vice president and sales director to promote custody services to registered investment advisors across the U.S. A seasoned industry veteran with deep experience and contacts, Berg will report to Dan McCarron, head of the wealth manager's national custody division.


BNY Mellon Wealth Management recently hired Jane Staunton as a sales director for the wealth manager's New York-Tri-state region. Staunton, who has 30 years of experience in financial services, will be based in White Plains and report to Tom Hurlbrink, regional head of sales.


BNY Mellon Wealth Management Managing Director Eileen Foley and Senior Director Shana Warshaw have been named to the prestigious Women's Leadership Board of Harvard University's John F.  Kennedy School of Government Affairs.


Capitalizing on the growing demand for private banking services from its clients, BNY Mellon Wealth Management has promoted Carolyn Kozlowski to national escrow sales manager. Kozlowski, who is based in Pittsburgh, is responsible for setting strategies for escrow sales, marketing and client service practices and will oversee the escrow sales team. She reports to Joan Bird, managing director of BNY Mellon Wealth Management's West, Central and Mid-Atlantic private banking groups.


BNY Mellon Wealth Management has hired veteran banker Edgar Murcia to manage the company's private banking business for its West Coast markets, covering California, Nevada and the Pacific Northwest.  Murcia, a longtime Los Angeles resident, is based in Los Angeles and will report to Joan Bird, managing director of BNY Mellon Wealth Management's West, Central and Mid-Atlantic private banking groups.


BNY Mellon Wealth Management has hired Peter Moertl, a wealth management professional with deep investment and private banking experience serving high net worth clients, to head its International Wealth Management group. Moertl will be based in London and report to Donald J. Heberle, head of BNY Mellon's Family Office Services and International Wealth Management business.


BNY Mellon Wealth Management has hired veteran banker Lisa Simington to manage the company's private banking business for the Southeast U.S., covering Florida and Georgia.  Simington, a longtime Atlanta resident now based in Tampa, Florida, will report to Tom Roberts, managing director in the private banking group headed by National Director Bill Sappington.


BNY Mellon Wealth Management is continuing to build its sales and portfolio management capacity in the Southeast US; this time with the hiring of two managing directors of sales in Florida and Georgia. Garrett Alton will be based in Atlanta and report to Georgia Chairman Dana Halberg. Timothy Goering will work in the West Palm Beach office and report to Craig Sutherland, President-Southeast U.S.


BNY Mellon Wealth Management's Ridgway Powell has been named a 2010 FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager. The list, created by an independent research firm for Boston Magazine, identifies the top wealth managers for client satisfaction in the greater Boston area. Less than 7% of wealth managers in the region made the list of 400 professionals, according to research firm Crescendo Business Services.


Doris Meister, a highly regarded industry veteran, has joined BNY Mellon Wealth Management as its regional president for the New York area.


As BNY Mellon Wealth Management pursues its strategic expansion in California, the company has named Amy Millman to become regional president of San Francisco. Millman will succeed current President Jack Cortis who is to become regional chairman overseeing efforts to increase the company's community involvement and expand its presence throughout Northern California. Millman and Cortis will report to Dave Holst who heads BNY Mellon Wealth Management-West.


Joan Crain, Senior Director, Wealth Strategies and Chief Fiduciary Officer - Florida, at BNY Mellon Wealth Management, was named 2009 Trust Banker of the Year by the Florida Bankers Association's Trust, Asset Management and Private Banking Division.

The Trust Banker of the Year Award is given annually to a trust banker with an outstanding commitment to excellence demonstrated by service and involvement with the Florida Bankers Association Trust, Asset Management & Private Banking Division or Florida Trust School while participating in the growth and development of Florida's communities. Crain is chairperson of the division's legislative committee.
