BNY Mellon Wealth Management has hired veteran banker Lisa Simington to manage the company's private banking business for the Southeast U.S., covering Florida and Georgia. Simington, a longtime Atlanta resident now based in Tampa, Florida, will report to Tom Roberts, managing director in the private banking group headed by National Director Bill Sappington.
BNY Mellon Wealth Management is continuing to build its sales and portfolio management capacity in the Southeast US; this time with the hiring of two managing directors of sales in Florida and Georgia. Garrett Alton will be based in Atlanta and report to Georgia Chairman Dana Halberg. Timothy Goering will work in the West Palm Beach office and report to Craig Sutherland, President-Southeast U.S.
BNY Mellon Wealth Management's Ridgway Powell has been named a 2010 FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager. The list, created by an independent research firm for Boston Magazine, identifies the top wealth managers for client satisfaction in the greater Boston area. Less than 7% of wealth managers in the region made the list of 400 professionals, according to research firm Crescendo Business Services.
Doris Meister, a highly regarded industry veteran, has joined BNY Mellon Wealth Management as its regional president for the New York area.
As BNY Mellon Wealth Management pursues its strategic expansion in California, the company has named Amy Millman to become regional president of San Francisco. Millman will succeed current President Jack Cortis who is to become regional chairman overseeing efforts to increase the company's community involvement and expand its presence throughout Northern California. Millman and Cortis will report to Dave Holst who heads BNY Mellon Wealth Management-West.
Joan Crain, Senior Director, Wealth Strategies and Chief Fiduciary Officer - Florida, at BNY Mellon Wealth Management, was named 2009 Trust Banker of the Year by the Florida Bankers Association's Trust, Asset Management and Private Banking Division.
The Trust Banker of the Year Award is given annually to a trust banker with an outstanding commitment to excellence demonstrated by service and involvement with the Florida Bankers Association Trust, Asset Management & Private Banking Division or Florida Trust School while participating in the growth and development of Florida's communities. Crain is chairperson of the division's legislative committee.
